COMMON QUESTIONS
Our team can help you check the details for the intake you are interested in.
Yes. Since 1 June 2024, most workplaces with five or more employees must have one of their employees appointed as an OSH Coordinator. If a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) is already appointed at the workplace, that appointment also meets this requirement. Workplaces that must have an SHO follow the SHO requirements. Domestic staff employed by households, the armed forces and certain work on ships are excluded.
Under section 29A(4) of Malaysia's Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514), an employer who fails to appoint as required may, upon conviction, face a fine of up to RM50,000, imprisonment for up to six months, or both.
No. Completing the course does not automatically appoint you. Your employer is responsible for formally appointing you as the workplace's OSH Coordinator.
Both the employer and the appointed employee need to be registered in the MyKKP system. YSHS will guide both parties through the registration process.
